Shotokan
Karate of
Virginia
(SKVA), offers
training in
traditional japanese martial
art called
Shotokan Karate.
We are
affiliated with
the Japan Karate
Association (JKA),
a world-wide
organization and
member of
Shotokan
Karate-do
International (SKDI)
which serves as
the headquarters
for many JKA
clubs in US and
worldwide.
SKVA is dedicated
to encouraging and
assisting students
in their growth
and
understanding of Shotokan
Karate and
continuous
improvement of
one's character.
Our goal is to
help individuals
reach their
highest
potential
through the true
art of shotokan
karate.
Karate can be
practiced by
men, women and
children. Our
students range
from the very
young to senior
citizens. Anyone
who is in
reasonable
health can train
at Karate.
Karate students
will improve
their health,
self-awareness,
self-confidence
and self-esteem.
Parents and
teachers
continually
report on the
improvement in
the behavior of
children who
train regularly
with
SKVA.
The physical
training
required to
reach a high
level of skill
in Karate
promotes overall
good health,
fitness and
well-being. The
concentration,
commitment and
dedication
required, helps
build a strong,
confident and
determined
character.
Karate has been
scientifically
proven to
provide exercise
in the form of
aerobic,
anaerobic,
calisthenics and
isometrics
through a
traditional,
systematic
program which promote
overall health
and well-being.
Spring
Camp 2011 with
Sensei Mori
Very good movie
about one of the
last true
samurai of his
generation. He
is a true man of
Budo; humble and
modest, yet a
master that can
positively
impact and guide
his students to
always be better
and do better!
