Mohammad Hanjani - 5th Dan, JKA

Active Experience, 27 Years


Mohammad Hanjani is the Chief Instructor of Shotokan Karate of Virginia (SKVA). He started karate training at Japan Karate Association of Virginia in 1988.  Since then he has been training and participating in the different camps and seminars conducted by many world known masters and instructors such as:

Sensei Hidetaka Nishiyama
Sensei Sugiura Motokuni
Sensei Masataka Mori
Sensei Keinosuke Enoeda
Sensei Y. Tabata
Sensei Yoshiharu Osaka
Sensei Massaki Ueki
and many more ...

 

He is graduated from Sensei Mori's instructor course in 2003 at the JKA of New York; headquarter of JKA in the United States. http://www.jkany.org

 

He started teaching at JKA of Virginia from 1994 and was an active instructor there until June of 2008.  In 1996 -1997 He was teaching for after school program at Fairfax County School system.

 



Lia Burnham - 3rd Dan, JKA
JKA Certified Instructor
Active Experience, 20 Years

 

Lia Burnham began training in karate at the University of Connecticut JKA Karate Club in 1995.  She is a graduate of Master Masataka Mori’s Shotokan Karate Do International Instructor Course in New York City

She has competed in JKA regional and international tournaments, placing in Women’s Kumite, Men’s Team Kumite, Women’s Kata and Team Kata.  At the 2011 SKDI Spring Championships, she placed second in Women’s Black Belt Kumite. 



Michael Burnham - 3rd Dan, JKA
Assistant Instructor
Active Experience, 21 Years

 

Michael Burnham began training in karate at the University of Connecticut JKA Karate Club in 1994.  

He is a graduate of Master Masataka Mori’s Shotokan Karate Do International Instructor Course in New York City. 

He has competed in JKA regional and international tournaments.
